Napoli line up Atletico Madrid star as Victor Osimhen replacement

Serie A giants Napoli could swoop for Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion this summer.

The Italian side are planning a squad revamp in the coming months following a disastrous title defence in 2024.

Amongst the changes in Naples will be the departure of star striker Victor Osimhen with the Nigerian international confirming his intention to leave.

Napoli are confident of securing a fee in excess of €80m for Osminhen which will be reinvested in new players ahead of the 2024/25 season.

As per the latest from Sky Sports Italia, Omorodion has appeared on their radar, on the back of scoring eight La Liga goals on loan at Alaves in 2023/24.

Atletico have been working on a contract renewal for Omorodion, with the potential to increase his purchase clause to €100m, but this interest could change the situation.

Los Rojiblancos have high hopes for Omorodion’s future, particularly with Alvaro Morata potentially moving on, but a huge transfer offer will be tempting at the Estadio Metropolitano.
