NFL analyst links Buffalo Bills' biggest potential flaw to star QB Josh Allen
Jamie Germano/Rochester Democrat and Chronicle / USA TODAY NETWORK

No one truly knows what to expect from Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills during the upcoming 2024 NFL season. Some believe that the Bills will still be serious contenders, while others expect a big step back.

It was a wild ride for the Bills this offseason. Obviously, the biggest move of the offseason came when the Bills traded star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. They made plenty of moves to try to make up for the loss of Diggs, but no one knows if those moves will be enough.

With that in mind, the Bills are a bit of a wild card heading into the 2024 campaign. Hopefully, they can overcome the loss of their biggest offensive weapon. They also lost No. 2 wide receiver Gabriel Davis in free agency.

All of that being said, there is one big flaw that the Buffalo Bills are facing in 2024 and it has to do with their star quarterback.

Buffalo Bills’ Biggest 2024 Flaw Linked To Josh Allen

Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report recently took a look at the biggest potential flaw for each team during the 2024 NFL season. For the Bills, he came up with Allen’s potential of self-destructing without Diggs.

“To replace Diggs, the Bills signed Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in free agency and selected Keon Coleman in the second round of the 2024 draft. But the collection of incoming receiver talent may not be enough to replace Diggs’ production and bail Allen out of bad decisions.”

Since the trade that sent Diggs to Houston, these are concerns that the entire Buffalo Bills’ fan base have been worried about. Allen has been known to make horrific decisions at times. Diggs has bailed him out more than a few times over the years.

Looking at the current roster, the Bills do not have a clear-cut No. 1 option. They hope that rookie Keon Coleman can be that guy for Allen, but that’s a stretch for a first-year player. None of the other wide receivers on the roster are capable of being a true top option either.

Fans and media analysts were hoping to see the Buffalo Bills get aggressive on the trade market. Some names that were linked to the Bills were Brandon Aiyuk, Tee Higgins, and even Deebo Samuel. However, the Bills opted to stand pat and not make a sizable wide receiver trade.

That could change prior to the 2024 NFL season, but it seems unlikely. The Bills are likely to head into the season with this group in place and hope that Josh Allen can make the most of them.

It will be interesting to see how the star quarterback adjusts to life without his No. 1 weapon. He’ll also be adjusting to life without his No. 2 target. That could be a recipe for disaster.
